About the "Become a Circulator" Project
At the "Symbiotic Upcycling Society" Co-Creation Center*1, which is connected by respect, industry, government, academia and citizens are collaborating to advance the "Let's become recyclers" project, which aims to realize a recycling-oriented society. As part of this program, Yamaha Motor has launched the Junkansha (Circulation Vehicle), a mobility concept that will become a hub for connecting local resources and connections and promote the activities of recyclers.
"Be a circulator."
*1 A co-creation base for a "coexistence and upcycling society" connected by respect
Led by Professor Hiroya Tanaka of Keio University's SFC Research Institute, the research center was established after applying together with Kamakura City and others to the Japan Science and Technology Agency's (JST) Co-Creation Space Formation Support Program (COI-NEXT) [Regional Co-Creation Field], and was selected for the incubator program in 2021 and the full-scale program in 2023. The center's vision is to create a circular city centered on a new type of citizen known as a "circulator," and it will use Kamakura City and Sagamihara City as its main experimental fields to promote activities for citizens, universities, companies, and local governments to co-create and realize the necessary POC (Proof of Concept).

Co-creation of cities: We will work with industry, government, academia, and citizens to co-create cities where people can experience the joy inherent in human beings. Improving happiness and vitality: By deepening the "happiness of cities" and expanding their "vitality," we will contribute to increasing society's potential.
