[11/9 13:30] A walkable future symbiotic city starting from Zaimokuza ~A town planning workshop that both adults and children can enjoy~
"Walkable cities" are gaining attention as a way to create "people-centric" urban spaces where everyone can get around safely and comfortably, and where people can enjoy lively interactions rather than car-centric urban spaces. This workshop will encourage participants to think about and take action on resident-led, symbiotic urban development, looking at various perspectives, including children, adults, and the elderly (humans), and animals, insects, and plants (nature), to consider what vision and actions are needed to make our lives more comfortable, safe, inclusive, diverse, considerate, and sustainable.
Time & Location
Nov 09, 2025, 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM
Zaimokuza Public Hall, 4-4-26 Zaimokuza, Kamakura City, Kanagawa Prefecture, 248-0013
About the event
We live in a town. There are roads, buildings, and a variety of vehicles, including cars and bicycles, and diverse lifestyles are carried out here. Is this lifestyle comfortable for children, adults, and the elderly, as well as for animals, insects, and plants?
"Walkable cities" are attracting attention as a way to create "people-centered" urban spaces where everyone can move around safely and comfortably, and where people can interact and flourish, rather than creating car-centered urban spaces.
What kind of things are there in the city?
What kind of things are happening in the city?
What kind of connections will be fostered in the city?
This workshop will encourage participants to think about and take action on resident-led symbiotic urban development, taking into account various perspectives, including children, adults, and the elderly (humans), and animals, insects, and plants (nature), to consider what vision and actions are needed to make our lives comfortable, safe, inclusive, diverse, compassionate, and sustainable.
